Then don’t let me stand in your way.
I’m not going to anymore get on one knee,
And plead and beg for you to stay.

That last conversation that we had,
I knew you too hated me.
The funny thing is I haven’t done anything bad,
It’s just that my pain hasn’t been able to set me free.

I’m sorry that I turned to you,
But I thought you’d understand
Since all the stuff you’ve been through,
I was there for you, for your every demand.

But nevermind, I’m on my own,
But nevermind I no longer feel.
For soon to you I will be an unknown,
Because my pain wasn’t a big deal.

hi emsal, i can tell by your poem that you've been hurt. i will not say that i know just how you feel - no one can, but i can relate. i was recently hurt by someone who basically led me on for six months (internet) and two weeks before coming to see me, told me he wasn't...he actually wrote a limerick to tell me. and i was reeling for quite some time between hurt, anger, and still don't understand exactly why. most probably will never know. this may sound a bit "no way" to you, but lately i've been finding out that if i can find one good thing that comes out of something that's hurt...well, then it seems i am refocused and the hurt begins to disappear. for instance, he dumped me and my writing improved! actually it got better while we were writing each other. other little things as well. i haven't meant to run off at the pen. just wanted you to know that you aren't alone. painted_echos
