and fixed on the kill.

The life I have taken, some sustained me.
Some might be my demise.

You must remember the kill
for no purpose, the need of a spirit
a powerful beast.

To leave skins that would warm you,
and flesh to rot in the sun.

The weapons have all dulled now,
all collect dust from the years.

You ask me for my lessons,
the hunter you will be.

The beast rises,
and opens it`s once savage eyes.

Tells you of blood,
stories of fate,
to dampen your innocent eyes.

The lesson is handed from a man
to a boy.

Gentle the spirit, strengthen the heart.....Crow [comments] => 4 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 21 [informant] => crow [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

For the mere sport of it,I disagree with hunting completely. Is a horrible and empty feeling to see the carcass of an animal destroyed and robbed of breath for just kicks.Thought provoking as always :)

rites of passage.........it's not like it was......never will we relish the exchanging of spirits.....man to animal...animal to man......again.........it stopped being a need ...a survival....a circle of life........it became a sport......a waste.....a time will come when we may need to learn this again........

as always......emotive and powerful!!
