Array ( [sid] => 2311 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => In thee Eyes [time] => 2002-08-15 07:07:16 [hometext] => Living with autism, and all of it's stages,
is probably the hardest thing I have encountered,
but also the most beautiful! [bodytext] => I watch a child, who's wandering eyes,
is of a mystery, elsewhere he drifts,
somewhere he unwines,
He cannot hear, a whistling bird,
but he hears sounds, that can burst his eardrums,
as a roaring train, ....... He stairs into space,
he now must feel safe, ...... he touches hot coals,
never feeling the burning flame,
His mother reaches out, .... a touch of hand,
a small hug, .... he pushes her back,
not wanting simple touch,
she is only an object,
her mind now puzzled,
Life of Autism ...... a child to understand,
a true blessing to believe in,
she reaches for him, again, grabbing at all senses,
she works to unsolve, the mystery,
given to her for a reason,
she is many, living the life,
consistant, timely, routine,
He holds wonders inside,
she reaches out to his world,
with patience she teaches, each day is new,
a true blessing uncovered,
though trying at times, he now understands,
he holds the power to change,
the way others think,
Look into thee eyes that wander,
reach for the heart,
he believes in God,
He still holds mystery, talent, and wonder,
through his screams, and tantrums,
he brings days of tears, laughter and love,
Some night he wanders, unable to sleep,
he tires you, with hyperactivity,
A struggle he will overcome,
I understand his ways, he holds simple pleasure,
in a complexed mind,
He is a child, I have watched grow,
to some, only a mystery,
he has sparkle, that carries magic,
a true gift from God,
trusting others, to realize the powers,
to believe, to somehow understand,
the reason, he is here,
he is promise ..... hope,
he can accomplish much,
through patience, and love,
he looks for others, to share his time,
he shows the world, a different life,
Reaching out for help, struggling,
My child now walks proud,
with some understanding,
he realizes his gift,
He is a blessing, revealed by God, loved by all,
teaching others, a new way,
a promise to live for, a child to watch,
a son ...... born, though he struggles,
he will always look for me,
he is a picture of encouragement,
a star of wonder,
A child ..... I will hold ..... FOREVER! [comments] => 1 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Valerie_Pearson [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
