Yang mengenangi roh-roh yang terkorban,
Mereka yang turut meninggal
Dengan keamanan dan keadilan
Yang kian luntur jauh dari pemikiran
Di luar, sorakan-sorakan cogankata
Yang diracuni dendam
Mencemari manusia sejagat
Dilaungkan, mengikut rima bunyi dentuman
Bom, tembakan senjata dan peluru berpandu.
Saksikanlah!
Di tengah tapak tragedi dan maut
Jalur-Jalur Merah, Putih dan Biru
Yang berkibar-kibar; sayu
Dalam kesejukan hujan
Yang merah telah pudar
Seperti kebahagiaan dunia
Yang kian diancami kegilaan perang
Yang biru dan ikhlas pula
Dicomoti air dan musim luruh
Serta ketidaksabaran sesebuah negara
Yang masih belum memahami kebenaran

Kebenaran...
Jalur-jalur putih kesahihan
Dan bintang-bintang yang dulunya
Membawa harapan dan suci bersinar
Kini hitam dengan kulapuk, kesombongan
Dan ketidakwarasan ekoran daripada
Tragedi September sebelas.
Amerika, sampai bilakah harus kita hidup
Dalam kegawatan, dan ancaman maut;
Kenapa begitu banyak nyawa
Yang tidak bersalah biarpun berdosa
Harus ditambah kepada jumlah kematian
Tragedi September sebelas? [comments] => 3 [counter] => 222 [topic] => 8 [informant] => Qohinoor [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AmericanTragedy )

Hey, this is a nice Malay poem but I think you should transalate it to English so that other readers can read. Anyway, great job and keep the poems coming pal! :-)

Saya rasa bahawa awaklah yang patut menerima anugerah Sasterawan Negara yang seterusnya....no kidding. I couldn't write this well if my life depended on it. Who knows, in a a few years, this could be part of the component for the Sastera Bahasa Melayu subject! Good luck!

I'll try my hand at translating, for all to read:

The brief rain soaks the ruins
Commemorating, testifying for the dead
Those who died
Along with peace and justice
Fading away from the mind's eye
Outside, slogans
Poisoned with hate,
Poisoning all mankind
Are shouted to the rhythm of blasts
Of bombs, gunfire and cruise missiles
Just look at it!
In the middle of the tragedy and death
The Stars and Stripes
Fying, albeit shabbily
In the cold of the rain
Red has faded
Like global happiness
Now threatened by the lunacy of war
That which was blue and sincere
Is besmirched by rain and autumn
Like the impatience of a country
Struggling to come in terms with Truth

Truth...
The white of imartiality
And the stars that once
Brought hope and shone immaculately
Are black with pride, prejudice and mildew
And the madness
Of September 11th.
America, how much longer must we live
Under pain of chaos and death;
Why should so many lives
So many innocents, so many guiltless
Be added on to the body count
Of you great Tragedy?
