Array ( [sid] => 23065 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => untitled 1 [time] => 2003-09-11 13:05:00 [hometext] => i write some of my poetry on the fly.. so this poem has no real meaning to me. [bodytext] => Standing upon a distant plateau
searching the land high and low
A looming shape comes into view

Upon a distant horizon awaits
a beautiful castle with golden gates
It's splendor and intrigue awaiting someone new

Terrets high with silver flags
yet something in my mind still nags
Where have I seen this before?

I continue my journey descending the plateau
thinking to myself, how far have i to go?
Suddenly i see a vision of a person on a floor

I pick up my pace and continue with fright
is someone hurt? dying? what a dastardly sight!
I must hurry if i am to be of any assistance to them

Finally my destination is growing in size
what fantastic things I see in with my eyes
A splendid vision full of Zen

Can my mind imagine anything my beautiful?
to the maker i am duly grateful
That i should be blessed with this display

Nearing the walls I see once again
a person of whom's life may depend
On my assistance today

I pass through the gates and continue in disbelief
in the center of the court is a tree with silver leaves!
Yet to the main castle door do I pace

I approach the door and then knock thrice
suddenly wanting a warm greeting my thoughts do entice
Opening the door a huge room awaits

I enter and feel a sense of dread
realizing now it is i who am dead
I turn to leave and WHAM! I awake.....

"Turrets"

Nicely done, overall. Reminiscent of LotR's Gondor.
