Per quelli di voi che siete italiani, non sono italiano, sono greco, per`o ho abitato a Roma per tre anni, e la lingua italiana e un piacere per me. Quindi, si puo essere molti sbagli nella gramatica eccetera.

Forse non l'importa ma mi piace
In fatto, mi e piaciuta
come puo piacermi se non la vedo
e lontano, ma da sempre stava lontano
..quindi allora e piu vicino!
e adesso conosco che la amo!

Just before someone trashes this poem, I will try to translate it for all and sundry to read (sorry for my wretched Italian if I botch this job) :

Perhaps it’s not important to you but I’m fond of you
In fact, I WAS fond for you
How could you please me if I see you not
You are (or AND?) far away (from her) but you’d been always far away
...Therefore (or THEN?), now you are (or AND?) closer
And now I know thatI love you!

Se qualcuno ha una traduzione più buona di questa mi dia subito, per favore.

Is this what you were trying to say?:

Perhaps it does not matter
but it pleases me In fact,
how can it please me if I don't see you?
You're distant, but you always were distant..
Therefore then you are closer
And now I know that I love you

If so you did a great job of it
only thing is last line "la amo" should be "l'amo" Welcome to the site.
