[bodytext] => I am like spittle being flung around, A pile of dog dung on the ground. Rising as bacteria carried by a breeze. Turning into fungus hanging low on trees. I am a maggot squirming like a worm. Feeding on a carcass overrun with germs. I am the slime in the wake of the snail. Or the hopeless inmate inside any jail. I am a knat that could choke a mule. I am the world’s most miserable fool. Every reward for the life I’ve wrought, Will all be like threads in my noose’s knot. I always sought in life to do what’s right. By walking mostly near a path of light. Many were the pleasures for which I yearned, Trapped as unfulfilled desires that hotly burned. I lived in a vacuum, or so it seemed. The love that I let out, did not return to me. Everyone else would see me as spittle too. If ever I lived a day dear without you! robertburns2@mac.com [comments] => 1 [counter] => 146 [topic] => 2 [informant] => robert_edgar_burns [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
