[hometext] => we had to write a poem for english class about a childhood memory using personification, or similies, or metaphors, or all.
[bodytext] => I watched as the daylight crawls, Past the shadows hanging on the walls, The sun did set like a dropping ball, So slow yet so fast as I recall. Night struck like a shattering of a mirror, So horrendous in the nights sky, stalking of deer. The fire cackled with the ray of red like mars, The smoke engaging in an uproar towards the stars. A marshmallow aroma as strong as to much cologne, Enveloped my lungs with the sweet taste of its unknown. Burning from the embers of the fire’s rebirth, Melted and falling to the grass and earth. Mt family gathered in a circle like a tribe, Giving off this persevering vibe. Roasting marshmallows together as a family, All laughing and talking happily. Every year, this is something we do, On a cold summer night in June, July, and August too, This is my past childhood memory, Of something I always want to be apart of me.
