I saw your contained tears,
And I saw your forced smile.
Your visage made my heart ache,
And made me feel so vile.

I was there with you from the beginning,
When your fingers wrapped around mine.
I was there with you when hell began,
You were a baby, and I was only nine.

I watched you grow into childhood,
And that’s where I’m leaving you.
I’m sorry that I cannot stay,
But my love for you will always be true.

I love you with every drop of my tears,
And I miss your scent every day.
I love you with all my bleeding heart,
But you and I both know I just can‘t stay.

Babes, you are my sunshine,
You brightened up my Hell.
I know it’s going to hurt for a while,
But I know you shall be well.

I can’t stay locked up anymore,
I need room to breathe.
And with all my hugs and kisses,
I’m going to have to leave.

Daddy doesn’t love me anymore,
And I still don’t know why.
We had so many years together,
And the thoughts are only making me cry.

Please water my bamboo plants,
And keep them healthy for me.
And when it hurts and you miss me so,
Hug the teddy bear so you won’t be so lonely.

I’ll hug mine as I think of you,
Hoping you feel the embrace.
And remember my kisses upon your cheek,
When the tears are sliding down your face.

Remember that my love for you is undying,
So please don’t be so sad and please don’t cry.
Baby Boy, we will be together again,
I promise, this isn’t our last goodbye.

Awww. Wow, this poem kinda... got to me. Very well done, Gracie. I'd like to leave a long comment, but... I'm kinda speechless. I think this is probably the best poem of yours I've ever read. At least it seems that way to me. Wow, though.
