But you didn't really care
You just thought you should ask something
To get away from my stare.

You hurt me very well
And made my pain real
Now I live in hell
Where I'll eat my last meal.

I push you away from me
Because I don't want you around
I wish that I am carefree
But I feel as though I've drowned.

No one can save me now
As I don't want to be saved
I have stayed strong somehow
But once again I have caved.

As my pain intensifies
I'm left here on my own
I try to sing my lullabies
But all I can do is groan.

Please don't give up on people like me
Don't let them slip away
One day there might be an absentee
Because there was delay.

Short enough and long enough to please every crowd, this poem makes good use of rhyme scheme to convey an underlying beat that could be taken to symbolize the steady pulse of life.

The textual message, however, provides the reader with a feeling that is contrary to the hidden tones, talking about the uselessness of superficiality and an attempt to break away and seek out a source of care and friendship.

Overall, there is an interesting mix of conveyed concepts in your poem, making it mysterious and dark, yet reassuring, while being slightly vengeful and precautious. Good job.

I have often wondered that myself. Some people hold on because they do not believe they deserve to be happy sometimes as a way to punish themselves. I used to do that. I was afraid to be happy because I didn't deserve to be happy and if I was ever happy it would be taken away. So I was afraid to happy until I met my husband. Please let it go because you deserve to be happy and it is never too late.

Hi Emma,
Good write. I relate to what you are saying very much and you sound very sane to me. I know most of the time people can't really help but its nice to know they honestly do care.
Thank you for you comment on my poem its appreciated.
Hugs
