of past and present
all just rolling around
there’s a mouse in my house
said the angel on my shoulder
as the shadow pushes me down
while the circles
of past and present
all just go rolling around

the first to be second
till second was first
and then there were three
what to do
what to do
who shall i be
oh, oh, you’re late
but you’re always late
shall you always be

there’s a mouse in my house
said the angel on my shoulder
and the shadow pushes me down
into the deep
to talk to myself in rhyme
there’s a mouse in my house
i shall ask him to dine
tell angel, fly boomerang up and around
now shadow, would you like to dance

who are you
i don’t know
but we do
who are you
i don’t know
but we do, we see
in black and white law
gray is truth

thank you madame, said the mouse
with a burp
the angel started to glow
all that i am
turns to shadow and says
care to spin, care to twirl
as the mouse took his leave
and the angel flew boomerang up and around
we danced by the light of her wings

who are you
i don’t know
and neither is me
spinning and laughing
and twirling and laughing and
screaming and laughing
and screaming and
screaming
and
screaming
