Array ( [sid] => 22563 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Night Sky [time] => 2003-08-31 23:35:00 [hometext] => This poem is based on the song I hope you knew as a kid, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I was just thinking of stars and stuff and I think poems like this are going to be a long line, for me at least. [bodytext] => Twinkle, twinkle little star
No more feelings
Far above
Drifting into little shapes
Knowing nothing
Not anymore

Once you were young,
Now young no longer
You sit and sparkle
Among the others

Once you were living
Like us down here
Different times
So far ago
So much you've seen
So much you've heard

Light years away
You once were here
Upon this earth
Not once a human
But an animal

Bear, cat, dinosaur, dodo bird
You were once
But no more
For you have risen,
Your soul crystallized
For eternity

Surrounded by humans
Now ageless
They sit among you
Knowing nothing
Seeing nothing
Hearing nothing
Being nothing

They are the night sky,
The blackest of black
Shown their true form
Their souls blackened
From hate
That animals don't know

Not crystallized, but burned
Not floating, but pinned
Neither living nor nonliving
They suffer forever

Neither here nor there,
They suffer forever [comments] => 2 [counter] => 238 [topic] => 25 [informant] => Nsa [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

I showed that poem to my friend and she really loved it, she has a fascination with the night sky, as do I. Good work.
