Array ( [sid] => 22037 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => If only [time] => 2003-08-18 04:45:00 [hometext] => I wrote this poem the night after I saw my ex-girlfriend with someone new. It had never occured to me that I still have feelings for her and that it would hurt so much to see someone you let go find someone new. [bodytext] => If only I understood, you’d still loving me
I’d still be holding your hands
Express my love so free
If only I waited, you’d still be mine
I’d still be kissing your lips
Everything’s always fine
If only I followed my heart, you’d still be in my arms
I’d still be holding you close
Keeping you safe from harm
If only I gave more, you’d still be here
I’d still be your comfort
Keeping away the tears

But now you’re gone. I wish I’ve done more
To keep you in my arms
Love me like you did before
Now you’re gone, I know can’t turn back time
But baby if only I could
Then you’d still be mine
Now that you’re gone the only thing that remains
Are the memories of happy times
And the bitterness of pain
Now I know it’s too late for worries and sorry
Can’t do anything else
Except think of “if only”
