Array ( [sid] => 21873 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => You Can't Take It Back [time] => 2003-08-13 22:05:00 [hometext] => This poem i wrote quite a while back, when a close friend of mine committed suicide. i was mad at the time, but now i'm just sad. [bodytext] => On the outside you are normal
On the outside you fit in
On the outside you are happy
But the sadness is within

You keep your feelings hidden
With that mask you paint on bright
No one knows the difference
No one knows the battles that you fight.

Sure they have their issues
And their bad days come and go
But your bad days are eternal
You mustn't let it show.

You are scared of your emotions
You're scared that they'll find out
The hate and the anguish that you hide
The pain you cannot shout.

But the tormenting in your heart
Wont let you live your life
They don't know your pain
They can't see your strife.

There's only one solution
There's only one way out
To end your hurt and hateful days
As life cannot be without.

So you think of happy places
Think of peaceful days
You ponder how it is that you will go
There are so many ways.

Your family find you still
They see your stone cold eyes
They know you've done this to yourself
You didn't let them say their good byes.

You deprived them of a daughter
You ignored their loving arms
You were a sister to your siblings
Did you think how they'd be harmed?

You found the ultimate solution
You ended life ............ and then
You remembered all you left behind
You've sent your loved ones round the bend.

It's too late to turn back
The deed is already done
You look at their tears and agony
Look what you have done!!!

You thought your life was hard
Well what about your friends?
I don't suppose you thought of that
All they once knew is at an end.

You now wish you could take it back
Reverse the hands of time
Go back and sort your feeligns out
But guess what......... YOU CAN'T [comments] => 3 [counter] => 216 [topic] => 36 [informant] => Katie-Kate [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

I also recently lost a friend to suicide. This touched my heart more than you know. Its something that doesn't leave your heart instead it leaves a hole where they once were.I understand this, well done.

Very nice poem..I loved it. Lots of emotion and it made me think twice about some of my thoughts. Thanks for sharing your poem and I hope to see more from you in the future.
