Array ( [sid] => 21670 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => A Song for Today [time] => 2003-08-09 18:25:00 [hometext] => well this is my first attempt at a sonnet in iambic pentametre... it's also quite a significant poem, it signifies a change in my life - those familiar with my work will understand. [bodytext] =>
O harp like heart that sings inside my chest
Against all sense your sound is full of woe
Sing not a tune so lonely and distressed
Instead allow my love for her to flow
In truth I am no longer by my self
My lady fills you up and warms you through
Sing not of circumstance so ill of health
Allow your song to never sound so blue
Sing still of love but not love which is lost
For truly I feel love now all the while
Sing not of once felt hateful ice and frost
Sing now instead of my fair lady’s smile
Sing not of all the pain of yesterday
Sing now, sing true, sing loud, sing of today.

this is great - the lyrical feel to it makes it sound like something Byron might have written. I'm so glad you found your reason to smile. Keep writing, Kate x
