The stars twinkle across the clear sky
Emanating beauty and mystery
A young girl, so innocent
Twirls around, her cherubic face
Tilted heavenward, full of life
Hasn't had any empty promises
Hasn't lost her first love
Her eyes sparkle she's an angel
Her smile fills and radiates a room
She's so innocent never tiring of life

She lifts a tiny hand up
As if she can grab a star and taste it
Daddy is behind her full of anger
He lost his job you see
He has to vent on the nearest thing
He grabs her shoulder and spins her around
She goes to bury her head into his chest,
But daddy isn't full of play tonight
He glares at her, pushes her away,
Slaps her stunned face

Inside no one can hear her cries
Except for this sadistic man
Pleasured by one so innocent
He doesn't care glares at her tears
Abuses her again and again
Tosses her on the floor
Like a used rag
And oh she's bleeding and confused
Tears are falling thick and swift
Doesn't know why she was treated that way

Outside a falling star plummets to earth
Where another star has been lost

Joel - I just came across this poem and I believe it is a very beautiful, deep and emotional write. So very well written for your first attempt at a poem like this. No matter what you write your poems always leave me speechless. Just amazing and a very sincere write...
