[bodytext] => Sitting in her black satin gown Tears falling onto her black rose Staring into the depths of the black waters Watching as the ripples flow. Depression is all she’s ever known And all she’ll ever know She can no longer push away Her demons from long ago. Out in the garden of the castle She watches the prince’s ball She watches beautiful girls in pretty colors Their biggest worry is that they might fall. They don’t know what it’s like To fall every day Every day slipping farther Slipping into disarray. Her such sad eyes rest upon the prince And a sense of longing overcomes her Quickly then she lowers her eyes The prince could never love her. She turns her tear-stained face away from the light Unable to bear life anymore She looks back to the waters of the fountain Wondering what she’s here for She has to get out of this place She can’t stay here any longer Setting her black rose on the edge of the fountain She wishes she were stronger. So instead of joining the party She runs into the dark woods Twigs snagging and tearing her dress as she runs Unable to escape the emptiness in her heart Though she wishes she could. She reaches a small clearing Bathed in moonlight, the sky lit up with stars Her dress is torn almost to her knees Her shoes were lost back in the dark. Her hair is falling out everywhere She trips and falls to the ground She’s given up on everything The strength to lift herself up cannot even be found So she crawls to a large rock And sits all alone Her makeup smearing down her face Down her cheeks black tears shone A breeze began to ruffle her hair Sending chills all the way through When she felt a tap on her shoulder and a voice “I believe this belongs to you.” Startled she falls to the ground, Quickly wiping her face and her clothes She looks up right into the prince’s handsome face And then sees in his hand, a black rose. She takes his hand silently, staring into his eyes Seeing an inner beauty that kept her in a trance He passed the rose into her hands and said “May I have this dance?” And so they danced to the music Of the dark and silent night Twirling together, in perfect motion Dancing for hours under the moonlight So no matter how hard life gets No matter how far down you think you are No matter how many times you may fall You’ve never fallen too far And when you trip there’s someone to catch you In this world you’re never alone So dry your tears and wait for tomorrow Who knows what’s yet to come.
