How that life would be so difficult, after she had grown?
Sad an lonely, so afraid, that she’d be hurt again,
She kept the world at arms length and didn’t have a friend.

Through the hardships and the pain, she made it on her own,
The bloodied scrapes within her soul were hardly ever shown.
Dependent only on herself, she’d struggle everyday,
If only so, that in the end, she did it her own way.

How could I help Miss No-one, I wondered to myself,
A part of me felt sorry but I placed it on a shelf,
I knew that pity wasn’t right, for she was strong and pure,
And love’s the only thing I thought that is a heartaches cure.

I tried to show Miss No-one, a love so warm and true,
And in everything I did for her, my love it only grew.
Pretty soon I needed her to be there in my life,
And the time I spent away from her would cut me like a knife.

But my love I guess for No-one, was wasted in the end,
For all that she desired was for me to be her friend.
With that my love was pushed aside, as gently as a lamb.
I was thinking that I’m No-one’s fool, and truthfully, I am.

Wow this is a real thought-provoking write. It sure made me sit there and think for quite a few minutes.Very well written Doug,I'm impressed,I only hope your heart is healing well and that you may be no-one's fool in the eyes of one,but somebody's everything in the eyes of some.
Beautiful!
