Array ( [sid] => 21540 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => her eyes are crystals [time] => 2003-08-06 16:05:00 [hometext] => about stephanie [bodytext] => her hair, so black, it glows
her arms, slim pale spider webs
i'm so often trapped in

her face, so torn
screams out the number
of times she's been broken

but, her eyes
her eyes are crystals
fierce beacons of light
that burn far beyond my soul
far beyond the reach of my dreams
burning even beyond
the secret corners of existence
were unseen monsters slither
devouring worlds that we'll never know

her eyes are crystals

her hands are open wounds
that bleed the tragedy of her morality play
onto paper made of her skin
skin that she tore away

she thinks that she is ugly
she doesn't know how bright she shines
she doesn't know how many times i would die
just to see her smile

her heart is somehow still pure
despite being tethered to mine
and her love
her love is the most euphoric high
that has ever spun my mind with vertigo

but those eyes
those eyes are crystals
outshining need-pyres of pain
revealing the angel within
whose wings are not broken
only long unused and begging to be kissed
so that they may soar again

and in the end
those eyes
those crystals
make every tear a smile [comments] => 3 [counter] => 265 [topic] => 13 [informant] => Cancer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
