You said, "How come yer always so happy?"
I held my breath and listened for her reply,
"Because I am happy" I heard her lie
You never noticed the way the smile flickered on her face
Or the way she stopped for milliseconds as her heart began to race
You never noticed the tears that formed in her eyes
Did you ever suspect that what she said was just a bunch of lies?
How the **** can you not notice the way she watches you?
The way her face falls when she hears you talk about other girls,
How the **** can you not realise yer the centre of her world?
Did you see the way her shoulders slumped when you laughed at her again?
Did you notice shes still got feelings, she still cares, still loves, still feels pain
I watched her walking along today, next to you and looking down
I noticed the red tinge in her cheeks and the way her smile hid her frown
You never noticed the way she looked at you as if you were a king
You never notice there is no smile unless she says something
I saw her sitting alone today, away from the rest
I watched as she glanced your way as if you were the best
I know the things that no one else knows, like why she cries at night
I know about the battle she faces, the seemingly endless fight
Have you ever thought that maybe shes hurting, when her smile hides a frown
That she only seems to be glowing when you are around
I wish to god you'd notice and pay attention to her too
Maybe shes just happy yet sad, because shes in love with you.
