The night air fills our lungs.
The happy smiles that we both share,
Makes me feel so very young.

The crowd is gathered in very dim light.
I look left then to my right.
I realize that the most beauty rare,
Sits beside me on this night.

We cheer the knights who defend us all,
In the service of our king.
And if beauty was all that were required of one,
You’d sit beside him as his queen.

The horses canter, trot, then bow,
Till “All Rise” comes from the throne.
The king then praises the heroic deeds,
Soon to come in defense of our home.

Games of skill, jousting, and swordsmanship,
Then the challenge unto the death,
For the hero left standing shall risk his life,
To save us from the evil Black Night.

They valiantly fought until daylight appeared.
The Yellow Knight rose to the words,
“Rise now my champion as we call you Lord,”
His new title sealed by Majesty’s sword.

The Black Knight arrives and throws down his glove.
The challenge has now been declared.
The kingdom is his if he crushes our Lord,
Instead of an all out war.

The battle is brutal and very hard fought.
The Black Knight is cunning and smart.
But just when it appeared that all had been lost,
Our hero’s sword was more sharp.

A banquet prepared by the servants and slaves,
As the subjects were called to a feast.
A toast to the throne and the mighty Knight,
Who saved our world from the dreaded black beast.

The goblets and urns with wine and ale flowed,
And with twirls did the wenches all dance.
The loyal subjects celebrated for days,
And the youth were then filled with romance.

I think you could go far.And if you do, I'll want a signed copy of your first novel.
Bravo!
