Array ( [sid] => 21377 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Wooden Soldier [time] => 2003-08-02 13:45:00 [hometext] => I wrote this after reading a poem by a kid who was constantly made fun of and thought about killing his classmates but then decided against it. Only I made it much more morbid to make a point. [bodytext] => the woods are alive with wondering
this young boy lies suffering
a thousand loosed arrows they comfort him
a decision made to avenge him

inside the woods the eyes are watching him
as he speaks of his rage, they plead to him
but this young boy has cried too many tears
now he'll have his vengeance for his lost childhood years

heartless ares stand away
there's no justice when he prays
just society enraged
at the price that they must pay
to the wooden soldier

the streets are streams of silence
never been touched by violence – or so they say
but can not words be cause for dread
for your words the streets are rivers of red

heartless ares stand away
there's no justice when he prays
just society enraged
by the price he made them pay
heartless teacher teach the child
just before he dies
that his beauty lies estranged
because he took this boy's away
the wooden soldier

the words of time are rushing by
in a mind long sanctified
there's no fear of being sent to die
he's been there all his life

-instrumental-

the woods are alive with wondering
over the grave of a boy whose suffering – is over
he took his pain to the motherland that sinned against him
they set him to flames – again

heartless ares stand away
there's no truth left when you pray
give the child a safe trip home
he's always ever been alone
heartless ares take the fall
for the need to crush the small
and watch as this young child is born forlorn
have mercy on us all
