[title] => A promise ring forgotten
[time] => 2003-07-26 20:45:00
[hometext] => I wrote this poem just from thought. I was sifting through my sisters stuff from her boyfriend Nick, whom she had been with for six years and I found the old promise ring and a black and white photo. This is what I got from all of it. So this is for my sister! Enjoy.
[bodytext] => Our names were engraved in the back of the ring, that pretty ring that sits upon my finger. You gave it to me for my sweet 16, saying if I took it off the bond would be broken. And never once has it been removed. Its a symbol of our relationship and the feelings between us. And when I look at the picture of us beside my bed, tears come to my eyes and I wonder why? It was taken in black in white, just exactly how I am feeling now. Black and white. Plain and simple. It's getting harder to remember your touch and what you felt like. It's as if my memory of you has completely died. And when that sad love song came on the radio, I smashed it with my fist. And then angrily I slipped that ring off from finger, and watched it slip down the drain, in pain and denial.
