A soldier leaves to fight a war,
will he see her face once more?
his girl is left behind to wait,
but he's arrived at the gate.
"tell my girl 'im sorry dear'"
because you are there and i am here.
i have died and you remain,
i was a soldier but now im plain.
i am here at the pearly gate,

I love it when I am moved to tears by a poem.And I was certainly wiping tears while reading this write.I would have loved it to have been longer....maybe him reflecting on past times spent together...their love?..I dunno but all I know is I wanted more lol. *sniff*
