Array ( [sid] => 20747 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => the book [time] => 2003-07-20 23:05:00 [hometext] => i guess the last one wasn't "my final scrawl". i'm still breathing, the words keep coming. this is a bit different from my usual MO. [bodytext] => i found a book
made of human skin
and read the secrets
that lay therein
i drank monster's blood
and english tea
as the book
opened itself to me
a spine of sorrow
bound the pages of pain
as i denied sleep
and turned the next page
wide-eyed and engrossed
spellbound and in thrall
the final page was my only fear
dreadful and near like a funeral pall
each page, penned in blood
from some human inkwell
slightly scorched 'round the edges
surely written in hell
and as i turned that final page
and as i closed the book
my eyes turned grey
my face was dismayed
with a withered, cadaverous look
the pain and sorrow cut too deep
the book had scarred me like a knife
for i had read the end of the tragedy

well im glad this wasn't your " final scrawl"... i would miss reading your awsome poetry... anyway this poem was definutly very different then what you normally write but i still liked it, especially the ending... but i dont think the book is finished yet... hang in there... ~Apryl

definitely different but just as profound. this is an interesting concept and i liked the way you develop it until the revelation at the end. As Apryl said, i think there's a few more chapters left and i would be more than happy to read them. keep writing, Kate x
