Array ( [sid] => 2068 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Slice of Paradise for Awhile [time] => 2002-08-09 12:39:16 [hometext] => I was going to do my errands on my lunchtime as usuall, but decided to cheat on my special diet and get some icecream and delve to a spot along the river steps, away for a bit. It made my day a whole lot better. I am trying to keep busy, for my heart is still pining of my love for someone. Tis not easy to do this, when he is or isn't going to say anything. So finding some solace is my best way to cope.

[bodytext] => As I walk to get my ice-cream treat
I decided to walk down by the river, a restful retreat
Leaving the noise and crowds of the city life behind
Down the long steps, feeling the river wind, just the warm breezy kind!
Oh, What a feeling that was, so soft, the wind and sun on my skin
Looking out across the water to City Island, the sun shining down, as in a grin
I approached the river steps, walking slowly as I neared
Minnows and small bass sunning, skipped and darted out of a cover of rocks
I put my hand in the water, waited patiently
I watched and smiled, for curious fish they are! For upward they peered
Not too afraid they be, they’re use to this all the time, by the docks!
Summers are too short, these kinds of things wishing to stay longingly
So warm and open, a smile playing within thee
It felt so good to feel this way, knowing back at work, it awaits me
I must move on back to reality, leaving this quiet, serene world
You know, tall buildings, businesses, streetlights, and those jewelry stores of pearl!
My lunchtime, now done, I’ve signed back in, my leave-quest file
With thoughts of a short time ago, enjoying a slice of paradise for awhile!!

We all need a little slice of paradise!!! You did wonderful work creating the scene of this poem... I can see it very easily. And don't worry about the guy... it'll work out!
