As the bell rings,
She doesn’t want to wake.
Listening to the music as it sings,
For sanity in hearts sake.

There are times in the world,
Where she feels all alone.
As thoughts around her twirled,
Buzzing as the ringing of a phone.

Nobody to turn to,
She’s all by herself.
Friends escaping through,
Gaps caused by an elf.

Losing my break on reality,
Tears threaten to fall.
She feels so sorry,
For what she’s done to all.

Lost in dreamland,
Where her worst nightmare lays.
Screaming while disappearing in sand,
As her sub conscious dies it says.

Don’t know what to do,
As her dreams fly away.
And her depression grew,
She no longer wished to play.

Things turning upside down,
Of Black and White.
Walking through an empty town.
Running now to take flight.

Soaring in the clouds,
With nothing to lose.
Except a bunch of crowds,
Ready to make a bruise.

A bruise in her heart,
Building up in the years.
Recreating in it her art,
At night in tears.

Slicing to rid of pain,
Pushing past the screams.
Trying to stay sane,
Turning her nightmares into dreams.

Flicker, Flicker,
Goes the flame.
The burning sensation grow sicker,
With no one but herself to blame.

She forgives all,
Dropping blood.
Not ready to fall,
Water slowing becoming a flood.

Twisted yet calm,
Like the roaring wind.
Reading your palm,
Future messages to send.

Light and dark,
She’s fighting the shadows.
Her bites as worse as her bark,
No need to get shallow.

Better she hopes to be,
Day by day.
Once again be a happy family,
She’s on her way.

This is a story,
That is said and done.
Of a girl in our history,
Rising for hope by one.

This is happening more and more in the world today... I'm glad that it has a happy ending rather than the traditional dark ending.
Bravo to your best friend for overcoming her depression!

Great Write!
