Array ( [sid] => 20601 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Free [time] => 2003-07-18 01:05:00 [hometext] => my final scrawl. thank you all for your comments and what not. i hope you enjoy this. [bodytext] => my life, entering twilight
hastening to total darkness
shameless as a favored slave
in various stages of undress
hacking smiles in milky throats
'til my blade meets unyielding bone
no need to murder, anymore
i just don't want to die alone

the hands of help return once more
i thought i'd broke them all before
they stoop to force, their pleas ignored
as they drag me back to sorrow's shore

(let me drown)

gorge me with pills to make me well
or to plunge me deeper into hell
set me free, they must, they will
or perhaps i'll relapse and begin to kill

i long to embrace what lies beyond
this world, where beauty is a well-endowed blond
whose IQ (which can be seen in her eyes, so glazed)
is surely lower than the number of my remaining days

my wrists cry out for a razor's kiss
my throat weeps for a noose bowtie
my whole body aches for the comfort of a grave
what is left but to surrender and die

escaping from the white-walled room
without a moment to spare
i wander the dying night
'neath the fading starlight
that left it's kiss on the Mourning air

daylight will find me dying
travelers will find me dead
with a smile on my face
and a small hole marking the place
where my spirit chewed through my head
free to fly, my spirit soars
beyond the flaming sun
and at long last, all pain lies in the past
as my battle with life is won

buried and forgotten
where i was always meant to be
no, please don't cry
you see, i was born to die
and dying to be free

and now i'm finally free [comments] => 2 [counter] => 170 [topic] => 52 [informant] => Cancer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

This is excellent... worthy to be recognized with the most accomplished of poets. You say so much so well, with a poetic brilliance. I am very impressed :)

a dark and fascinating take on liberty. the fifth verse really cut into me. your imagery always manages to leave a lasting impact on me. so i bid you farewell, until the next time, whenever that might be. Truth always, Kate x
