She just never knew why it all began
Oh she clung on to the times she'd known
And just wondered if she'll win in the end

'Twas dark today when she left her home
Like a lonely song in an empty tone
Though the winds smelled of the scented rain
'Twas the longest day she'd ever known

As the sun rose up oh way up high
How she felt alone in confines of the sky
Then a lonely tear just fell from her eye
When the world stopped turning to a lone bird's cry

'Twasn't too long 'fore it was twilight time
When she set out alone without a reason o' rhyme
As the sun went down in the wide old west
Her heart just yearned for a long lost chime

As she found her way back home that night
Her heart just sank to see her home so quiet
Though she knew her love will always be the same
But the emptiness inside just made her cry

As I write this song about her little lonely heart
I can her see her face so blue so scarred
I go back to the day when I lost my love
How I miss her Oh when we're so far apart. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 186 [topic] => 32 [informant] => rusty1980 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )
