is someone I have never seen before.
She is not bound by perfection,
but she seems so beautiful in my eyes.
She walks with her head held high,
and she knows,
yes she knows she is better than they,
they who made her feel so useless before.
Her eyes,
bright orbs that reflect her happiness,
a happiness that never once entered her existence.
Her smile,
it is genuine, not a facade,
not a mask that she hides behind so well.
This person before me,
she is the person that I yearn to be...
She is so content
so full of elation
so proud
so much like the things I desire to be...
And,
as I look at her more closely,
I realize that she is not a stranger at all.
In fact,
I have known her all of my life.
She has just learned to put the past behind her,
she has learned to move on, to let go,
She has grown, matured
And ,
as I look away from her I realize...

thanks crow and shari, I am proud of this poem. I wrote this when I had fought my way back from a very dark place that was the centre of my poetry for a long while... you can read a few of them at the old site...I came to the realization that I am a wonderful person and that 'I like me' . No matter what life throws at you, we all have the strength and will to overcome and to accept ourselevs for who and what we are. I wanted to share this poem in the hopes that there may be someone out there who feels (or felt) like this too and may gather some of their own inspiration from it !

You got the majic, that's all there is to it,
a little bit of affirmation, striving for perfection,
recognition, let the true self shine with a smile
like through the cloudy sky, till all is krystal clear.
