Array ( [sid] => 20472 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => In One Night [time] => 2003-07-15 17:05:00 [hometext] => It makes you realize how fast everything can be lost in matter of seconds. And that you can't really trust anyone but yourself. [bodytext] => In one night I lost it all,
being respected by many,
to being ignored and feeling small.

It started with a fight,
my boyfriend was so mad-
and his eyes were strained so tight.

Rumor was he slept with her,
I was sad,
confused and hurt.

He was at the bar,
I couldn't wait any longer,
to confront the harmful truth.

Challenging him is what I did,
to get the facts and make things be "okay".
I prayed the rumors were wrong;
but I new better.

Everyone was there,
They didn't want me to go in,
but I fought my way through.

I immediately saw him inside,
holding a beer,
with two chicks by his side.

He looked at me with hate and fear,
I took off walking out the door,
my eyes filled with tears.

Footsteps raced behind me,
It was him, running and calling my name,
I didn't look back- I kept going.

"Babe!" he yelled,
I didn't answer,
I was too ashamed to care.

He managed to make me stop,
I looked him in his evil eyes,
"who are those girls& did you sleep with her?"

Everyone was watching,
I had no longer worried what people thought,
I wanted to know the truth.

His rage, his power,
was abnormal,
I turned around to get away.

He yelled, he screamed,
others ran inside,
some stayed to laugh and watch us fight.

I felt a pull around my neck,
A chain? A rope?
there was no hope.

I kicked him as hard as I could,
he let go- I was free- I dropped to the ground,
gasping for air.

No one thought it was real,
a prank one thought,
a game another.

He dragged me to the car,
Threw me in,
Locked the doors- told me not to scream.

For a minute I thought,
he would take me home,
to talk about the "lies"

Say he was sorry,
hug me and tell me,
everything was going to be alright.

A friend-so I thought,
ran by making jokes,
that tonight was going to be "the night".

I couldn't understand why,
no one thought it was real,
however, by morning they would realize,
his rage and power took over my life.

In the morning a car pulled up-
my mom's driveway; two cops at the door,
hats off with terrible news.

I was dead,
raped, murdered-
slaughtered-tortured.

My body was found,
under a bridge,
cold beaten, Dead...

People were questioned,
they knew it was him,
they felt bad they didn't help.

They told the cops it was a joke,
some lied,
some even cried.

But that's okay,
because I don't want their sympathy anyway,
what I needed was a friend that,
could have gotten me help that night.

In one night I lost it all,
being respected by many,
to being dead to them all.

how can one man become so angry and kill someone murder someone torture and rape someone that loved him???
this is a very powerful write
we all have to learn to walk away from those who are very angry ragefull people
even when we love them even when we need them
because even when they promise that they will never hit us and they do then they promise they wont ever do it again and they do
we need to know that they will
and maybe one day they will go too far

That's a really scary story, the thought that people would stand by and watch that happen and not do a thing. This really kinda freaked me out. So good job I guess, lol.

I know, it is kind of freaky knowing that no one helped her, but I bet it does happen when people think others are just fighting like normal couples do. Its scary how things can go too far.
