Array ( [sid] => 20457 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Honesty, Love and Truth [time] => 2003-07-15 12:35:00 [hometext] => Recently, a friend of mine was asked to be the maid of honor in a wedding. To her surprise, they asked her to speak during the ceremony. She asked me to write something she could read...and this is what I wrote for her. [bodytext] => These three feelings,
Emotions, if you will,
Are why we spend our lives,
Searching for,
Our match,
Our completer,
Our soul mate.

These three feelings,
Are the foundation,
Of a relationship worth building,
And are the reinforcements,
Of that building,
As the winds blow,
And the earth shakes.

These three feelings,
Will make your marriage,
Strong and safe,
A fortress…or a clubhouse.
A safe port in a storm.
As comfortable as a favorite chair,
The one place, you can be yourself.

These three feelings,
Each special, in its own way,
Honesty, maybe be hardest to achieve,
For honesty is the price,
That we each must pay,
For being open and vulnerable,
And expecting the same in return.

These three feelings,
So important, so real,
Love is so simple and pure,
And yet the most treacherous,
You must open your eyes, and arms,
And hearts…and take the risk,
So you can be wrapped up in it.

These three feelings,
To be respected, and clear,
Truth with compassion,
Allows you to speak your heart,
Without malice or spite,
Your message will get through,
And be heard softly .

These three feelings,
As you both stand here today,
Will keep you strong and close,
As you begin your new life,
So, let Honesty be your,
Life’s singular goal,
And let the wind of Love,
Take you to new heights.

And remember the Truth,
Will never stay quiet,
Will never seek to hide,
It will always be known,
So, with Honesty and Love,
Speak the Truth to each other,
Share your desires and wishes,
And make your dreams come true.
