Array ( [sid] => 20347 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => religion [time] => 2003-07-13 08:05:00 [hometext] => please please do not think this poem is "bagging" any religions or that i am completly against religion (im not) or anything its just with everything the way it is at the moment, suicide bombers ect this is just what came to my head ....
please please dont think im one of those people who are against everyones different beliefs im not i swear im not [bodytext] => To all the gods
I have to ask,
How long is all this
Going to last?
The hate between
Different beliefs
The wars that continue
On these bloody streets.

To all the gods
I need to know
Up in heaven
Does it snow?
Is it the snowflakes
That blind your eyes
To the division
On all sides

To all the gods
Can you see
The millions dying
Because of ‘He’?
Do you laugh
Or do you cry
When because of you
Another dies?

To all the gods
Do you think it’s all right
That if someone believes different
I can end their life
And that when I do so
I will feel no shame
Because I did it
In Your name

To all the gods
In your minds
Is the mountain religion is building
Easy to climb?
Are you unaware
Do you not know
That day by day
That mountain grows?

To all the gods
Do you the count the tears
That have fallen
Over the years?
The tears that have fallen
Only because
Of the hate between religions
Someone’s suffered a loss.

To all the gods
Are you black or white?
Because colour is the same as religion
And who ever is different isn’t right.
And colour is another divider
One that feels no guilt
Black plus white equals hate
It’s another mountain that’s been built

To all the gods
When we arrive at your gates
Is the only way in
To be filled with hate?
If someone’s accepted a difference
Do they go to hell
And burn in the fire
Until they rebel.

To all the gods
When you look down from above
Do you forget that you told us
All others you must love?
Is what’s happening on earth
Beyond your control
Have you sided with the devil
Who has captured our soul?

To all the gods
Is it that you cannot feel
All that’s happening below you
Because it’s so surreal?
Was is your intention
For us to be this way
To build this hate filled mountain
Allow it to get higher each day

To all the gods
I have to ask
Will one day our history of hate
Belong to the past?
Will we ever accept
Another’s belief
Or will the wars continue
On our bloody streets

To all the gods
Who created this mess
I wonder if your conscience
Is ever at rest
Can you not hear it
Or do you simply ignore
Its constant reminders
That we should love, not be at war

To all the gods
I hope you comprehend
You’ve committed every sin
From the start to the end
You’ve built this mountain
Filled with hate and closed minds
That’s becoming too hard to conquer
Even though it’s so easy to climb.

a very heartfelt poem... the funny thing is the Muslim, Jewish and Christain religions all stem from the belief in the same God. And what is happening in God's name is condemned in each religions writings. I would say this is not of God but of man.

Beautifully written with a clear message, i can only agree with the words in this poem as i watch what 'we' people can do.

Anyone in house who disagrees
Join the killers of humanity
The mountain that Tinka does expound
Started since man on earth was found.

Tinka, you did it, you always do,
You have a certain way, do you,
I love the way you write it down
The god of queens, set you a crown...

Agreed. This is not an "act of God", all the hurt we feel but Man's.

In the Qur'an we are told that "whatever good fortune we receive, it is God's will, but any misfortune that befalls us is but due to our failings".
