Array ( [sid] => 20304 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Ready for the Creatures of the Night [time] => 2003-07-12 13:05:00 [hometext] => I wrote this poem about our childhood fears of the dark...How such a simple shadow is all our imagination needs to take flight. Enjoy!!!! [bodytext] => Don’t be afraid little one
Darkness comes blocking your eyesight
Light is left along with the sun
It’s now time to close your eyes and hear the creatures of the night
The full moon cast a shadow on your wall
Is that really a werewolf trying to get in
How can you get your legs to move and not stall
Are they going to tear you apart for some unknown sin
The moon disappeared, did something evil swallow the moon
Oh no a witch got in and is wearing your coat
You hope morning comes soon
You wish it would rain so it could make an alligator filled moat
You decide you are an army man standing guard
You won’t let anything in to disturb your sleep or your family’s
Your eyes get sleepy and it feels like someone has filled your eyes with tar
As you wake you know the night is nothing more then a tease
Still you like to think you scared all the scary monsters away
You can’t wait to tell mommy and daddy of your adventures
You race down to tell your parents as you fly down the stairway
Babbling at the mouth you tell them how you weren’t afraid of the creatures
You just grabbed your gun with the cork in the nozzle and shot at them till they left
They kiss you with pleasure of how you saved them from being devoured by such horrible things
Full of self-pride you strut up the stairs and ready to start your day you know you can handle the nights [comments] => 1 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 43 [informant] => daydreamer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Pretty good. It has a kind of strangeness to it. Nicely written.
