[bodytext] => In a time seemingly long ago, Once upon a time
Before simple happiness had become a fight
I would lay in my dreams and fantasise about love
And I saw it as simple as the twinkling stars above...

He would love me and I would love him
No action could break us, once lovers we had been
Travel to the end of the earth, wherever he may go,
Every second would count, only he could make me whole

I craved drama - a passionate existence
Not once did I envisage this hopeless bitterness
Heated arguments would spiral out of control
But no matter, making up would be even more from the soul

Love so strong, so true and so amazing
Just like in fairytales, I’d be Queen and he’d be King
My naiveté passing a veil over possible hurt or hate
I didn’t realise that pointless excitement would just end in pain

Now, I ‘m still young but feel years wiser (and wearier)
You might find my judgement clouded but I find it clearer
Although they do say experience helps you learn and grow
Living the experience already seems to have left me fallen low

To find a simple life, settle down with a cup of tea
Skip the fancy three course meal and melodrama for me
Do I have to play by the rules that decide whether it works?
Can’t I just tell him how I feel, then move onto dessert?

I still crave that romance; dependable love so true
But know now I need trust, and stability too
I’ll kill this passion and use all this despair
To hope that I find my lover, soul-mate and best friend.
