He thought, “Is life just a dream?”
He thought of the hues, the colors
The patterns,
And he wondered about all of these things.

He thought of empty roads,
He thought of ocean waves,
He thought of laughing children,
He thought about early graves,

He thought about the times he laughed,
He thought about the times he cried,
He thought about the hell of war,
And all the people that have died,

He thought about love,
And hate,
And greed,
And sorrow,
And humor,
And all the things between.

He thought about life,
He thought about death,
He thought about strife,
He thought about anguish,

He thought about happiness,
And what it means to be
A person living by no
Other than his own decree.

The colors danced and
He thought about friends,
He thought about truth
And how to make amends to
Problems unsolved,
Questions unanswered,
If life were unfulfilled,
Could he ever get what he asked for?

She poked him playfully,
Smiled,
And said “You think too much.”

This poem was pretty cute. I liked the ending! You just have to live every day.. like it is your last.

Too many thoughts detract from the daily pattern of life. Live life to the full this is the advice from an old man. Poem is very good.
