was all she heard
through the shattered glass galore
"kiss away
i have no use
for a pitiful worthless whore"

~run away~
was what she did
footsteps echoing though the night
~run away
from this abyss
filled with terror and with fright~

(find a way)
whispered her soul
deep within her heart
(FIND A WAY
she stood up proud
ready for a new start)

but REMEMBER the day
(she can't forget)
that liberation took place
REMEMBER the day
lest she forget
and continue falling from her grace...

I am really sorry that you had to go through this, yet I am so happy that you escaped from it. If only more women had the courage you have, this world would hopefully not be filled with so much abuse. A good write, and once again I am happy that you got away from this, no-one deserves this pain.

A wonderful poem, the rhythm is great but I love the use of punctuation marks. A tool not used often enough, especially when you know the poem is going to be read and not heard.
