Allah is great - is great! - says the Koran,
But does not know Him as a little tot-
Nor as a toiling tender loving man
That sorrowing our puny planet trod.

Allah is great!- so great! - says the Koran,
But wounded healer Savior it knows not,
It knows no Friday grim and Golgothan,
No man of sorrows as the Lord and God.

A suffering God who can have sympathy,-
Passed like His creatures through this vale of tears,
Who loved so much, He died upon a tree,
Whose loving heart was opened by a spear.

Allah is great! - on many a page we read,
He sees our planet spin from lofty a throne,
But did not bleed, nor wash disciples feet.
And knew no heart ache and no weary bone.

Allah is great! - but Homo Viator,-
Man on the Road, is not a metaphor,
But real,- who will him sustain
With bread and wine en route in storm and rain?

Allah is great! so great! - says the Koran-
But so disturbing human history.-
He who immersed Himself must bridge its span,
And hold its record and its summary.

Your poem is well written. But the Allah you speak of is the Father of the man we believe in. Also those who truly follow the teaching of the Koran do not believe in what is happening now.

Oneself is one's own saviour, for if one couldn't save himself, where would one be?

If I am correct, you mentioned Jesus Christ. I have heard that Muslims don't exactly believe that he is the son of Allah, BUT, they do believe that he is a Prophet, and he is mentioned in the Koran.
I am afraid I saw this poem as a slam to Islam, and a way to say that Christianity is better. As a future anthropologist, I believe that no religion is better than another, and that all religions are real to their believers. I myself am Christian, but I hold a deep respect for Islam.
I am sorry if I misunderstood your poem and/or offended you.

No slam to Islam Jessica.
I also studied comparative religion and am wide open.
But, as the poem says, "man on the road" - needs somebody that travelled the road.
Christ travelled that road and man needs a brother.

Thanks a lot for commenting.

Thanks Shari for commenting.
There is no offence against Islam. The poem solely tells how hard the road to Allah is and Christ immersed himself into this world and travelled the road.
Allah is great, but remote for most that have not attained to highest perfectin.
Man on the road need a fellow traveller to knows his troubles because was in the flesh Himself.
Thanks for commenting.

I am a theologian, that means i study the gospels inside the bible and outside the bible, i believe that you are saying that God, is bad, because Allah, is God, so what do you want to claim here, that God is bad, but the Christ is good?
