Is coming to an end
Their ignorant tactics
We no longer defend

The likes of Kristol and Cheney
Rumsfeld and Wofowitz
Bush and Perle
are destined for
history's dustbin
And their own personal hell

We will look back in disgust
That such primitive men
Could be listened to and believed
In this our so-called civilised day

Their ugly rhetoric, so racist,
so filled with grandiose plans
have had their hour
These products of sleazy egos
so primitive in destructive power

We will look back in disgust
That they used the fear and grief
Of the American people
To manipulate and twist it
To cause much MORE innocent death

We will look back in disgust
At a pinhead president
More like ape throwback than man
Who swallowed whole their plan

We will look back in disgust
At the slaughter they unleashed
Children broken and disfigured
Families ripped to shreds
By superior technology raped

We will look back in disgust
That these criminals were supported
through a selfish desire for revenge
A primitive lust to destroy
And a belief in the lies of egotists

We will look back in disgust
At the political lies
The fake 'imminent' threat, the WMDs
All the twisting of reality to convince us
The products of their disease

We will look back in disgust
That a nation so pampered
Decided it was right
To obliterate a people so poor

We will look back in disgust
At politicians in a coalition of lands
Who in their neat dark suits
Plotted to waste a country
That had no means
to attack them or defend itself

We will look back in disgust
At the murdering liars and criminals
Who led us

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
