[time] => 2003-07-04 18:35:00 [hometext] => this poem is written for a great guy friend of mine who gave me some great insight into just basically leaving all the ***** behind...Enjoy [bodytext] => Two tickets to California and a new start
This is what you promise me
A new life's what we'll find
What have you got to leave behind?
A broken family, a love untrue and lost
A new hope murdered by winter's frost
Is a home really a home,
When everyone hates you?
Is a mother really a mom,
If she beats you til' you're black and blue?
Let's see, what else do I have to live for,
There must be something there
Somewhere that I can go,
Someone that will care.
I think I've got it now
I know a time without alarm
A time when I feel at peace
It's when blood drips down my arm
Don't try to talk me out of my self-harm
You just don't understand
All I'm ready for is pain and pills
Not for the perfect life you've planned
Because I've made a life out of all of this
What some would consider hell
And until you came along and made me think
I was doing pretty well
But you ***** that all up
With such style and such grace
God, you made me even think
I was better than this place
That I actually deserved better
Than my life's pathetic story
That I could make something out of myself
Instead of basking in another's glory
Now my worlds crumbling again
Next train out is mine
Because I'm sick of feeling like this
I'm sick of acting like everything's fine.
So let's take that train to California
Just me, you, and a couple of dreams
Maybe your idea is just right,
And not as crazy as it seems

You should do it. Live a crazy life and be free. It is what everyone is to scared to do. Don't let anyone talk you out of it. What is sucess anyways? Be a free spirit, don't conform and don't carry a message. Be yourself and don't look back. Art is life and make yours a Monet.

I guess califronia is as good a goal as any. To quote my father "california is the ultimate westering. The true answer to the call 'go west young man". Good luck with what ever life might give you.
