Array ( [sid] => 19771 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Ray Of Light [time] => 2003-07-01 11:35:00 [hometext] => Written Dec 2002. The poem outlines my journey through depression, the way I see it. Some have trouble working out what the other land represents (not to mention the rainbows!). It'd be interesting to see what people here think it means! :-) [bodytext] => I wandered deep into the night
Through darkened paths, no end in sight
Dark clouds thickened over my head
and deep inside my soul lay dead
Yet I struggled on into the night
Searching for some ray of light
Fearful and weary I looked on to see
A wonderful land made just for me
So I found the strength and ran away
Away from this world of black and grey
I ran around in vicious circles
amidst rainbows of pink and purple
No ray of light did I find there
just beautiful colours to catch my glare
‘Twas time to face the path behind me
For that darkened path was my reality
So I stood still for a moment or two
Slowly the sky turned from grey to blue
The rainbows had cleared without a trace
and the sun shone brightly in their place
There I stood, eyes open wide
no reason to run away and hide
A ray of sunshine warmed my face
and my body glowed in it’s embrace
Then outward shone that ray of light
displaying colours of yellow and white
Upon my face came a knowing grin
That ray of light lies within! [comments] => 2 [counter] => 231 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Debz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )
