Array ( [sid] => 19549 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => A Warning on the Wind [time] => 2003-06-25 08:05:00 [hometext] => A poem about a battle that took place in medieval times. [bodytext] => The wind is coming from the west today,
And it carries urgent news.
Come morningtime, the knights will lay
their weapons in the pews
and take up wooden stakes and water
that the priests infused.

Come noontime, we shall witness
the beheading of our king,
For order here will help us naught
against this evil thing.
And with that done, we’ll listen all
and hear the angels sing.

Come eveningtime, as blackness rolls
Over our precious homes,
We’ll get the oddest feeling that
we really aren’t alone.
And all at once the chaos ghosts
will loose their frightful moan.

The knights will charge, unturned by fear,
into the countless foes,
And douse them in the holy water,
and strike with mighty blows,
And when the sun first strikes the land
into the morning aft,
may our men prove victorious
as god’s will’s come to pass.
And then we’ll know once and for all
the justice that we cast. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 176 [topic] => 57 [informant] => butterat_zool [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )

What a lovely poem. I am a sucker for anything medieval, and I found this just as interesting. Well done.
