Array ( [sid] => 19411 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Beyond My Dreams [time] => 2003-06-21 21:35:00 [hometext] => This poem is for Jay (Evolution of Contentment) He is all that is REAL to me... All I thought I wanted in a man, I had breifly...that ended... Jay is my reality..God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so we will know to be grateful. I am thankful for having you in my life Jay!!! [bodytext] => I have had the man of dreams
Now all I want is the man of my reality
He made me promises and broke them
You promise nothing yet make everything happen
He placed empty phone calls and spewed lies
Your calls are few but filled with sincerity
He played the piano and then played me
You play on the greens and helped improve my swing
He made dinner plans and reservations
You bring ice cappuccinos to my door
He read to me by firelight
You sit silently content in the candlelight
He did not respect me
You trust me
He was ashamed of me
You admire my independence
He stands in your shadow
You are my light
He does not understand me
You accept me
He wanted a trophy
You want a friend
He is the past
You are the present and the future
He deceived me, I thought I was happy
You make me smile, I know I am fortunate
He was all I foolishly dreamed of
You are all that is REAL…

Very clever construction but only reveals moments of your happiness.
Leaves me afraid that you do not know Jay all that well.
I always found you had to go away together, spend all day, everyday, together, before you could be certain.
I liked the poem a lot. It was different and refreshing.
