when seeing for the first time.
They think it is their blight,
a horrible deed, a crime.

Embracing the light is pure bliss,
A lover comforting his beloved.
Sweeter than the deepest kiss,
True love I have discovered.

Who has called, Who has answered,
Will He ever let us know?
Our plea to which He replied?
He touched us and we can't let go.

We cry out for His help,
or curse Him when we hurt.
We call this loving the Lord?
He gave us this Human Birth.

We seek riches and fame,
He asks humility and love.
He gives us disease and pain,
To make our soul free as a dove.

Why do we torture ourselves?
Because we feel no pain.
Each second our soul cries out,
How will we ever gain?

He calls across time and space,
Realms and dimensions mean nothing.
His message strikes our soul,
He only asks for our loving.

All that seperates Him from us,
is the breadth of a butterfly's wing.

I enjoyed this poem, i'm not religous myself but I found the images you created in the poetry very nicely fitting. I could really understand the spiritual immensity you were aiming to convey... i noticed you started off using a more difficult rhyming pattern ... "light/blight, time/crime" in the first two verses before switching to an easier one in the rest...was there a particular reason you didn't keep it up?
Nice work.

I had to sacrifice style to get the proper message across.
