you can't say that I have not.
I've been patient
with all the things that you have ever said.
I've never given in
because I believe in a fair chance.
I've learned the hard way
and now I just have to bring up the nerve to say goodbye.

I've asked why
and never gotten a straight answer.
I've begged
to know the truth of you and me.
I've argued with myself-
wondering as to why I feel the way I do.
I've told myself...
this is going to be the final goodbye.

I've cried too many tears...
over you boy.
I've walked a thousand miles
just to be by your side- night and day.
I've lied to myself...
saying that we would last forever.

I've thought about this
and it is clear to me now.
I've paced for hours,
my head spinning wildly.
I've lost nights of sleeping-
knowing that I feel something more for you.

And I have decided...
its hard to leave someone you love...
but its not supposed to hurt this way.

Wow! I feel as though you know EXACTLY what I am going through right now. Only difference is, I'm married...for now. I've fought myself, asked her for answers, but it boils down to goodbye....it's hard to come to grips with. Amazing write!!

Aww that's so sad... beautifully written though. I truly hope you find happiness. Goodbyes are hard, but sometimes it's just what you have to do.
