promised on day one
to not fall for you.
There were so many promises
that I had kept.
... you were one of them.

And I would have said Hi,
the very first day I saw you...
but I was too scared.
But instead you took it upon yourself
to introduce me and you.

And I would have been there that time,
the time you needed me the most.
Had you only asked.
I can't read your mind...
you need to talk to me.

And I would tell you
what is running through my head,
but I just don't understand...
I can't explain it.
I've tried.

And I would tell you how I feel,
but I am not exactly sure.
Somedays I want you
and others I don't.
Sometimes you are a friend
and other days I want more.
I wish I could just make up my mind
when it comes to you.

And I would have sang to you
that night we were on the balcony,
just you and I.
That moment had been perfect...
that had been my chance to tell you how I feel.
Instead... we got lost in the feel.

And I would have kissed you that night-
you and I were at the fair,
looking down upon the ground.
But I got scared
and you were too.
So I held back.

And I would have said goodbye...
the one chance that I had.
But I couldn't.
You mean to much to me,
for you to just leave.

And I...
would have read this poem everyday
had I known it meant as much to you,
as it did to me.

And had I known...
maybe my heart would not be breaking in two.

And I...
lied... I did fall for you. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 287 [topic] => 2 [informant] => stargazer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
