welcoming any emotion with open arms,
Caution sleeps in the heart of sincerity,
As the bleak procession of life proceeds as written,
Sinking softly into these walls i have built,
Never becoming what i thought i should be,
Drinking pools of water on the ground,
to avoid waterfalls and tribulation,
The greatest challenge of my life,
Self reflection in a quiet room.

Your message is clear: we cannot escape ourselves. Perhaps that is why some of us cling frantically to cellphones and social media. It is a distraction. A way to avoid our own self knowledge.
To deny our inner thoughts is to allow others to define us. And ultimately, we resent that they exercise the privilege.
A wonderful reminder to dare to be alone with our thoughts long enough to understand who we are.
We cannot hide from that quiet room in our heads.
