David and Ezra started their business in 1892.
In 1977 it was modernized for you!
It was bound to succeed, and it did indeed, with a newer upscale niche;
And that is why, we still can buy from ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH

Insta-Burger fast food was almost the last food it sold in ’53.
They changed their name and sold the same to conglomerate, Pillsbury.
Bought out by Brazil; who owns it all still; instead of the old USA.
And here is the thing; its called BURGER KING; and Brazil says you’ll have it their way!

Three guys who worked for Paypal way back in 2005;
Started a business in a garage that quickly began to thrive!
They sold it to Google, kit and kaboodle;
For 300 million a piece!
And 2 million shows a day we all know;
Make YOUTUBE the business to beat!

That wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY song paid royalties whenever;
It was sung in movies or TV shows; but that couldn’t go on forever!
Time-Warner cleared 2 million a year; for 30 years royalties;
But time has run out; theyve lost all their clout;
And now we can sing it for free!

Audi, Bugatti and Bently; Lamborghini and Porsche;
All wholly owned right down to their bones, by VOLKSWAGON, of course!

With its 900 planes, this company can claim;
They own more than the British Air Force!
So should war interrupt; put your food tray back up;
You’ll be flying AA the whole course!

A&E, HULU, Star Wars, and who knew;
Pixar, and ABC all;
For years have belonged to the business whose song;
Tells us ITS A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL!

EXON paid, to clean up the bay, from the Exon Valdez spill.
The 17 million a day that they spent, seems like a lot until;
We found that their income could pay it and then some;
Earning 93 million a day.
With that kind of luck, twas a drop in the bucket.
If they opened their warehouse today:
The whole population, from every world nation;
Could carry 3 barrels away!

Nobody tells us how AMAZON sells us;
More products than anyone reckoned;
But others look pale when we tell them their sales:
Exceed 400 items per second!

SAMSUNG alone has grown on its own;
To 300,000 employed!
Microsoft, Apple, and Google combined;
To beat it would be on steroids!

Just silly facts; for which no one asked;
That someone gets paid to keep track of!
Unfortunately, that persons not me;

A cohort in all this
silliness as you suggest
that anyone could google
and oh yes, they do
all of the, at any station
in life, And why not,
it/'/s there
but still so to are
we, we always were
even when we were not
Horatio Alger wrote,
"ragged dick"
about a gent, who worked
fastidiously hard, perhaps
had some luck, he was
accepted by friends from
higher accord, yet influenced
only by what he knew,
by what you know,
reciting something many times
why, retiring this route approach
to learning sticks, and then
you find yourself just saying
stuff, who knows where it came
from, certainly not Amazon,
Fedex is overburdened
overburdened I say!
The two conjoined with
all the little mice ordering
things from their Apple
phones, but I have
a few Samsung devices
in my home, so I/'/m in Portland
for business, and staying at the Hilton
a small room, with a huge television,
a Samsung at the very least sixty
inches watching Michigan vs.
Northwester...

typing away on my tiny computer
screen, answering emails

wishing I was writing poetry,
the very next morning, I/'/m
at the Powell/'/s book store
reading about the problem
with poetry by Brian Phillips

I am thinking about nothing
but the thick clouds that
block out the sun, the city
streets that seem like
a more like an old town,
but there aren/'/t any houses
left, some intermixed
tranquility that perhaps
never was, but should
have been, maybe might
some day become

on a business trip,
spending 32 dollars on
breakfast for two
a small bowl of plain
yogurt surrounded by
thin slices of strawberry,
blackberry and yes,
granola to boot.

tell me about it...we are all in the wrong line of work.
I know that I am. What i wouldnt do to have a friend
or two that strives in high places.
