My nearest sibling was 16 years older.
But they are gone now. All of them.
I still ask myself, what would they do?
I still depend on what I remember. Still hope they would be proud of me.
Im certain our elders anguish terribly about leaving the young ones behind. How could they not?
They tried to prepare me, and now I am left to honor everything that they sacrificed.

I miss them; I loved them; and I cant find it in my heart to fail them.
There is no one to answer to but myself, but you know, the questions are getting harder.
We all made mistakes.

this leaves me deep in thought. you really conveyed this idea so well. My little brother, he is only 18, where I am 32. we are all we have aside from my mother who is sick and probably does not have much longer left. I wonder if we will do our elders proud. I wonder if we can make it without them.

Being the youngest, at least among siblings is something that I will never know. Im the oldest of
three. My sister is 2 yrs my younger and my brother
is 6 yrs. Im fortunate to still have both my parents
living but me still hoping that my parents and grandparents (which have since passed) are proud
of me for the decisions that I have made whether
good or bad. This piece has definitely got me to
thinking. Thank you :)
