For shortcuts were so fond of taking!
Warning us that we will fail; unless we check out each detail!

I looked up and the clock ran out!

Safe to say to win a race;
Requires at times a breakneck pace!
A thousand stitches steal your time;
While others cross the finish line;
Ive yet to see a winner hitch;
What a safety pin would fix. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 80 [topic] => 7 [informant] => softerware [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )

this is very swift
sometimes swift is not
at all quick, and it
might seem as though
it wasn/'/t done in any hurry.
But who knows...
you might have been multitasking
and slowly ever so slowly
in the background, you slowly
got it right.

the intention, they say,
is worth everything.

the intention, is not something
i could ever fake.
Peace!

the ancient cobble stones tell
a magnificent story,
though when the were laid
against one another those
who sacrificed to lay them
down made them down tight,
when each rock was set against
each other the way they were
meant to be in this pristine way,
And yet,

Only after a long time of weathering
do they seem to reflect a long
history as though they
were completely natural

the spaces in between each
rock carried forth and layed
down are simply
all that we have,
they are amazing these
cobble stoned pathways
in Greece, in Spain,
in Syria, or what was Syria

Oh Socrates, and Plato
and some cities
built in what was once
Rome, or Tripoli

A pin before it could
be safely clipped

they were not as old
as the Sun
nor as old as Earth

the Salt of the Earth
filled with water

And in what atmosphere
does heaven reside

The Inca Empire,
Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru.

Sister Austin taught math,
she left high school in 1939 to
become a nun.

And she told me,
those boys and girls would
wash their own clothes
and put them back on
in the cold and walk many miles
to make
it back to school,
because they wanted
to learn.
because it was important,
to understand the mathematics
from days of old
I think it was their heritage
I still do.

Sister Austin dead and gone
I am still sure does.

She was a teacher
who asked a lot of questions
about everything

I could never suss it out
how direct she was
with me to this very
day.

She knew me like
she knew a lot of her
childern

who wanted to learn

Peace!
